Davóne Tines – Recital No. 1: Mass

Sometimes a singer steps onto the stage offering something new, breaking down barriers of genre, time and music for a transcendent experience. Davóne Tines is one such singer. 

Taking Caroline Shaw’s miniature Mass as his starting point, Tines interweaves Shaw’s movements with snapshots from the Western European canon, African American spirituals, and 21st-century traditions to create a programme quite unlike any other.

Guildhall Jazz Orchestra: Dizzier and Dizzier

Guildhall Jazz Orchestra and director Scott Stroman are joined by renowned pianist Trevor Watkis and award-winning trumpeter Byron Wallen to perform a programme of music by Dizzy Gillespie.
