Welcome to our new laptop loaning system. Below are instructions and rules on how to use the LapSafe loaning system.

The laptop loaning system consists of 12 laptops, 8 of which can be loaned for a maximum period of 4 hours and 4 laptops for a maximum period of 24 hours at any one time. The LapSafe locker is located on level -1 at Milton Court by the stairs at the stage door side of the building.

Laptops loaned for a 4 hour period must be returned the same day no matter the loan period start time. Students must be mindful of school opening hours. Laptops returned after the allotted time period we result in students automatically blocked from loaning a laptop. Students should report to IT to have loaning reinstated on their accounts. IT reserves the right to block students for a week or longer for persistent late returns.

Please ensure work is not saved on loan laptops as they are setup to reset themselves every day at 10pm wiping them clean. It is paramount students use a cloud saving service such a Microsoft One Drive to avoid losing any work. Work must not be saved on loan laptops. Please also be aware that occasionally the reset may not complete and if you have saved work to the laptop local drive then other students may then be able to access it when they loan it, so once again please do not save anything to the laptop local drive/desktop.

If you encounter any issues using the service please contact IT support using the link in “MyGuildhall”.
